I am NOT your typical maths tutor! I am a cofounder of the A-Level Maths tutoring website named AITutor, I train for 3 different sports, I speak English and Italian fluently and I will bring out the confidence and character out of your son or daughter.
I recently graduated from the University of Bristol where I got a 2:1 masters in Mathematics. Now I am currently working on a start-up and tutoring part time.
I have been tutoring Maths in person and online for 4 years and so I know the syllabuses well and I can keep the classes entertaining and efficient. I can tutor all abilities, whether you need help on the basics to get a strong foundation or if you are pushing for the highest grade and need a wide understanding of all topics. Plus I have been through so many A-level maths papers that I know what you need to learn and the best way to teach it!
I can also Tutor maths in Spanish or Italian for those who struggle with English.
Uzma graduated with First-Class Honours in Business Information and Technology (B.Sc) and has 12 years’ experience working in the industry. She has also simultaneously studied and taught for about 22 years.
She is a firm believer that education isn’t just about teaching from textbooks, it’s also about teaching skills that help children along the way, boosts their confidence, and helps them manage their workload. In addition to the subjects that she teaches, she finds that many of her students also benefit from learning key skills such as presentation skills, speaking to an audience or group of people, working with difficult people, problem solving, time management, negotiation, and so much more. She learned these key skills through courses and has applied it throughout her academic years and in the workplace.
While working as a full time teacher I taught mainly Physics and GCSE Science, but when the Maths department was short-staffed I was their first port of call. Since leaving teaching, I have tutored Maths succesfully to GCSE and A level. In particular, I can help with the Core and Mechanics modules, and some of the Statistics and Further Maths modules. I am not familiar with the most advanced of the Statistics, Further Maths and Decision Maths (indeed, this is the case for most A level Maths teachers in school - teachers share groups and tend to specialise).
I teach Maths at GCSE level - all exam boards including the International GCSEs from Edexcel and Cambridge. I've been a tutor for 25 years. I am mainly focused on teaching appropriate learning and memory skills for both science and maths. I remain available in between lessons in case you have an urgent question. Presently, I also help students and parents understand the new GCSEs!
I've been a secondary school teacher and a tutor of both Maths and Physics for 25 + years;
I am very familiar with the requirements of the main Exam Boards and the recent changes to their specifications in both Maths and Physics.
I have taught students across the full ability range, students with moderate learning difficulties as well as those aiming to achieve top grades in GCSE and at A - Level.
The following services are offered to each student, whether it's face-to-face or online tuition.
preliminary meeting and discussions = free;
preparation time = free;
setting and marking homework = free;
setting and marking exam papers = free
providing personal lesson notes at the end of each lesson = free
providing online support between lessons = free
providing feedback to students and parents = free
I devote a lot of time and effort on the student's behalf outside of the lesson time so I suppose I ought to have some remuneration !
I do try to make the tuition fee reasonable. It ranges from £15 for KS2 to £35 per hour's tuition for GCSE ; £45 per hour's tuition at A-Level.
That would seem reasonable for tuition on an ad hoc, pay-as-you-go basis.
Better value 1- For good progress to be made the parent / student needs to make a commitment to ongoing tuition over a period of time. If a group of 10 or more lessons are booked up and paid for in advance, prices come down by 10%, as it's good for both of us. That, too, would seem reasonable.
Better value 2- For TWO students together, either face-to-face or Online - only £25 per student at GCSE, £30 per student at A-Level.
